How Long Did You Date Before He Asked You To Marry Him?

I am just looking for other people's input… thanks for all responces. 
How long did you date before he asked you to marry him? How long were you engadged before getting married? Are you still married?
Well, we had been friends for about 3 years, and started "getting to know each other" for a while, probably a few months.
We dated officially for 6 months and then got engaged. Our wedding will be exactly one year after the engagement

Dated almost 3 years, engaged 15 months, to be married in May.

My first husband took 9 months to ask me to marry him. We were engaged for a year and a half before getting married when he kept thinking maybe he did not want to get married, then would change his mind when someone else hit on me. We were together for 10 years and it was miserable.
My new husband and I dated to 2 months and he asked me to marry him. We got married 3 months later. We have been very happy since then. I just knew I would be happy with him…. we have so much in common, hate to fight, and love to just be together. When it's right, it's right…..

Dated for 7 months then he proposed. We were engaged for 6 months before our wedding. We have been happily married for 6 years and going strong, with 3 beautiful children.

I DATED ONE YEAR. AND WE WERE MARRIED 22 YEARS. HE PASSED AWAY FROM A HEART ATTACK.

We knew each other for not quite a year before we started dating. Dated for two years and then he gave me a promise ring because I was only 18. Three years later he proposed. I accepted but then got pregnant. We are going to get married in July of 2010.

We dated a year and a half before getting engaged. We got married a year and a half after getting engaged. We have been married for 12 years.

We dated for 9 years, yes I know it is a long time! I am so glad we waited. We went through so much together in the nine years I know we can get through anything in life tigerher. We were jusy married in May and could not be happier.

Been dating over 3 1/2 years and still no ring
These things just take time. I plan to be engaged for at least a year. That gives you time to plan everything out perfectly.

My fiance' and I are highschool sweethearts. We dated all through highschool… he asked me to marry him when I was 19 and he was 20.. we've been engaged for 2 years now, we are getting married this October

Dated only 4 months before getting engaged, but knew each other 7 years before that. We were engaged for 7 months. We're still married and coming up on our 2nd anniversary in September!

We knew each other for about 2 months before we started dating, then we dated for about 8 months, we will be engaged for a year on July 11th of this year and we are getting married in May of next year.

5 years before he asked me to marry him. And in the 6th year just before the wedding I actually discovered he has a crazy, scary, weird side. Apparently I realized that sometimes you cant really know a person until something bad happens or something happens to Evoke their evil side. His family stepped in the way and then I discovered exactly how little I meant to him, less than 30 days before our set wedding day. But now I guess it makes sense because him and his family were not financially involved in the wedding so what did they have to lose? Nothing.

We dated for 6 years. He proposed on our 6 year anniversary. We are currently engaged and planning our wedding for March 2010. So I guess we are going to be engaged for about one year and 3 months. And yes we hope to be married for as long as we live.
We wanted to get married since we graduated from college (2006) but with work and getting financially ready it took us another couple of years.
