How do I sort date and time in excel 2003?

I have a large file with many dates. My excel will only let me sort 1000 lines which is only a little over 2 months. I have almost a years worth of data. I found "advanced filter" but dont understand how to sort 1 column.

Excel will certainly sort the whole list. Try selecting all the columns with data and sort again.

As for autofilter, it does not display all unique data if the list is huge. Try using pivottables to extract information you want. Advanced filter is for advanced users so skip that for now.
